Williams Self Drive Hire Terms
Rates
Rates include Comprehensive Insurance, VAT and unlimited mileage.
Fuel policy is full to full – Refill charged at 15p per litre above the pump price on the day of refill.
The above rates are for use in the British Isles only – Separate rates apply for Ireland, Europe etc.

Insurance
All prices include Fully Comprehensive Insurance, but do not include contents, punctures, door mirror damage or damage sustained through driving through Wildlife Parks (e.g. Longleat Safari Park).
Our Insurance Excess included in the standard price is £1000, if you purchase Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) the excess can be reduced to the amount shown for each vehicle type (this is available at our discretion subject to conditions). All Vans, Lutons and mini-buses are not covered by insurance or CDW for damage above cab height and wilful neglect (ie wildlife parks). Cars and mpv’s are not covered by insurance or CDW for wilful neglect or roof damage (ie wildlife parks).
Age Restrictions
Minimum age 21 – Maximum 75 for cars. Drivers must have held a full driving licence for a minimum period of 24 months. Drivers must be aged between 30 and 69 to hire Minibuses and between 25 and 69 to hire commercial vehicles, and will also require the correct driving licence entitlement. 21-25 years old / 70-73 years old and non Dvla licence holders CDW not available. 21 – 25 year olds will be subject to specific insurance terms and must have held a Full licence for at least two years, accident and endorsement free. None DVLA License holders must be 25 years to 70 years of age.
Smoking
All Vehicles are designated as non-smoking, any fines are the liability of the hirer. Any smoking damage will face a seperate Cleaning Charge.
Driving Licence
For each hire a valid driving licence must be produced by all drivers along with a DVLA license check code.
Please disclose any endorsements at the time of booking.
Most overseas driving licences are accepted from Non British residents, but must be accompanied by a valid passport and proof of temporary residence for the period of hire.
Hire Period
The normal booked hire period is on an 08:30 AM till 08:00 AM basis. Weekend rate runs from 5 PM on a Friday until 08.00 AM on a Monday.
Deposits, Payments and Refunds
A damage deposit of £200.00 plus the Cost of Hire is required upon hiring of vehicles. Payment of hire/deposit can only be made by debit or credit card. No customer card details are held on file, we use an authorisation “token” service, which will verify your card details with a small holding charge of £1.00 at the point of providing your information to us. This amount is not taken from your account and is released by your card provider shortly after the process is completed. Payments for deposit and hire are then requested securely from your provided card “token” using our secure payment provider Sagepay/Elavon.
Where a booking deposit is taken, this will only be refunded if the booking is cancelled at least 7 days before the hire date. The £200 deposit is fully refunded when the vehicle is returned with no additional damage and a full tank of fuel.
Early Returns:
You can return your vehicle early, however please note that it is Williams Self Drive Services policy that if a rental vehicle is returned before the agreed return time and date (on the rental agreement) then no refund will be paid in lieu of unused days.
Out of Hours Returns:
You can arrange to return your vehicle outside of normal business opening hours. This must be pre-arranged at the time of collection.
Administration charges
A fee is charged for Speeding, Congestion, Bridge Toll, Bus Lane, Parking Fine, or any other traffic or parking contraventions.
Pets
The carrying of pets is forbidden in all of our vehicles.
All the above Hire Terms and Rates are valid from March 2024 and are subject to change at our discretion.
